A diverting action-thriller helped launch the careers of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. The bus sequences were particularly well done, though the ending felt somewhat forced, and the final portion of the story seemed unnecessarily complicated. It’s hard to understand why Annie was present during the ransom exchange; really, one could question Jack's presence there too, given that they already had a picture of the bomber. Despite this, it proved to be an enjoyable experience, and Hopper appeared to be thoroughly enjoying himself in the role of a laughing, deranged antagonist. **3.75/5**
