Special Delivery doesn’t quite live up to its name, though it's not truly awful either. It’s a fairly standard action and crime story that functions adequately, but there’s nothing about it that makes it stand out. The presence of a female lead feels like a minor point these days. The car chases are executed effectively and the action sequences are well-crafted, yet I still felt like something was missing. It seems to me that the film doesn't really go anywhere memorable or do anything particularly captivating or original; it avoids taking chances. Instead, it borrows elements from countless vehicle-based action movies but does so in a rather cautious and uninspired manner. The result is something you can watch without complaint, but also easily forget. It had potential to be better if the filmmakers were prepared to experiment with fresh ideas or even just a slight variation on familiar tropes.
