It’s funny to think that maybe the "Deepstar" itself took one look at the plans and ran off! That left space salvagers “Kip” (Michael Paré) and his spirited daughter “Taylor” (Sarah French) with a tricky job of finding it. As they search, they discover they aren't alone in wanting this wish-granting device – watch out for "Dykstra" (Olivier Gruner) – and that the cosmos can be quite dangerous. It feels like something straight from a video game, where the threats keep getting bigger and bigger until they finally get what they want—or maybe not. The special effects are okay, but everything else is pretty low-grade; it’s obvious that everyone involved put their heart into it, though it mostly just feels like work for those of us who remember shows like "The Outer Limits"—from around 1963! It does keep a decent pace, but the whole thing is unapologetically straightforward action-packed stuff that you might chuckle at—in an almost mocking way—before quickly forgetting about it.
