It's an average film derived from a remarkable factual account of determination and kinship. If you can manage to watch for about forty-five minutes, you’ll realize that it’s passable, but not particularly impressive. The significant flaws lie in its excessive length and the overabundance of religious references. Combined with a cast of excessively tanned and seemingly unintelligent surfer characters, this contributes heavily to an overall feeling of cheesiness—to the point where you might feel like tearing your own skin off after about an hour. However, the lead performer delivers a commendable performance, which does offer some value. Everyone else should be eliminated and given as shark bait.
