The second Sonic the Hedgehog movie is noticeably better than the initial film. Director Jeff Fowler, along with his writing collaborators, addressed some of the problems present in the first one, achieving a result that feels less like a product and more centered on Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. The human characters are relegated to a side story which, despite its diminished role, still felt somewhat intrusive. The movie benefits greatly from excellent voice performances and Jim Carrey’s memorable portrayal of Dr. Robotnik. This combination elevates the entertainment value considerably, with impressive animation and visual effects enhancing the action-adventure scenes alongside an interesting main storyline that explores the hedgehogs' backgrounds while also deepening their personalities. It provides enjoyment for both children and adults. Rating: B
