Many viewers may find reasons to dislike this movie, but my reaction was different. While I wouldn’t call it the greatest kidnapping-adventure story I've encountered, I did appreciate watching it. It felt genuine, and Amy Schumer’s performance surpassed what I’ve seen from her in romantic comedies. Aside from a predictable plot, the film benefited from straightforward dialogue and a more compelling narrative style. Please don't fault me for sharing my opinion about her work. The story draws on familiar South American tropes. A woman travels with her mother to get away after a breakup, and what starts as a vacation quickly transforms into a dangerous situation reminiscent of "behind enemy lines." With no immediate help available, they must fight to survive and plan their escape from an unfamiliar place; the film then follows their various experiences until its conclusion. Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn were both well-cast, and their chemistry was evident. The film’s brisk pacing was a definite strength. It's directed by someone with experience in successful comedies. There’s nothing inherently wrong with watching it. I would describe it as an average movie, perhaps just a bit better than that. However, there isn’t anything particularly remarkable about it. If you want a film to simply entertain without requiring much thought, this will likely suffice. _6/10_
