The most significant issue with this film, beyond Nicolas Cage’s surprisingly stiff performance, was that I figured out what was going on very early on. It might have been chance, but once I realized who was behind everything, it quickly became an extremely formulaic and unexciting thriller that I found difficult to pay attention to. The plot centers around a flawed police officer, "Santoro," portrayed by Cage, who gets caught up in the murder of the U.S. Defence Secretary during a boxing event. Partnered with his military security chief – and friend, "Dunne" (Gary Sinise) – he attempts to uncover the motive and perpetrator. The film includes some misleading clues, a mysterious woman dressed in white, and several believable suspects as the story progresses, but there’s very little real suspense, and the “Santoro” character isn't particularly appealing or captivating. Certain lines of dialogue are quite awkward, and I ultimately considered it to be an unremarkable and easily overlooked movie.
