This one is better than the first film. Naomi Scott really shines; her portrayal feels genuine and she gives everything to the part, which noticeably improves the movie itself. The other actors are solid too, like Rosemarie DeWitt, but *Smile 2* truly belongs to Scott. The length might stretch on a bit longer than necessary, though that’s not a significant problem overall. What's shown onscreen mostly prevents any issues with how quickly things move, and the violence and gore, while intense, are well-executed—exactly what you’d expect from this kind of production. I do think there are perhaps too many predictable jump scares, which I don’t particularly like, but that doesn't really detract from the final product. The ending suggests a potential for an enjoyable third installment; I hope they make it.
