It’s a surprisingly good mystery with echoes of "Gaslight." Claudette Colbert finds herself inexplicably on a train, having no memory of how she arrived. Back home with her husband, “Richard” (Don Ameche), she experiences growing bouts of dizziness and confusion, even attempting self-harm. Fortunately, “Bruce” (Robert Cummings) is present to attempt to understand what's going on. The question becomes whether it’s a product of her mind or if something more dangerous is at play... Douglas Sirk does a solid job creating an atmosphere of suspense, and Colbert, along with a notably unsettling Cummings, contributes to the unfolding of a respectable psychological drama filled with peril that lasts until its conclusion. It's worth noticing Raymond Burr in one of his earliest roles playing a detective, and Rudy Schrager’s music enhances the mounting tension.
