The setup of "a hero versus bad guys in an enclosed space" is a familiar movie trope, one that doesn't get as much attention now as it did during the 1980s and 1990s, although we can still generally anticipate seeing at least one version appear every couple of years. But when it’s essentially _Die Hard_ in a skyscraper… well, that’s just _Die Hard_. Even the sequel managed to be clever enough to call itself _Die Hard in an Airport_. However, this isn't simply another _Die Hard_ movie, because (and I don’t believe anyone would be surprised by this) it doesn’t measure up. I do enjoy The Rock’s work, but still. Final rating:★★ - There were elements that I liked, but the overall result was disappointing.
