A writer—played by John Ritter—finds himself ousted by his wife (Alyson Reed) after she discovers his infidelity. He then seeks guidance from a bartender and a therapist, all while encountering numerous attractive women who are drawn to his tipsy nature. “Skin Deep” appeared five years following the conclusion of “Three’s Company,” but as a feature film with heightened drama, improved production quality, and the character of Jack Tripper reimagined as a writer struggling with alcohol and creative stagnation—plus some nudity. Directed by Blake Edwards, it feels like a blend of his earlier films "10" and "The Man Who Loved Women," seemingly inspired by elements from his own experiences. Fans of those prior movies and “Three’s Company” will likely find something to enjoy here, though the story wanders somewhat and could be considered the weakest of the three. Ritter is as charming as ever, and the film boasts a cast of appealing actresses including Denise Crosby, Julianne Phillips, Chelsea Field, Diana Barton, and Jean Marie McKee.
