Luis (played by Sergi López) and his son Esteban (Bruno Núñez Arjona) set out to find their missing daughter and sister, believing she's become involved with a rave scene in the Moroccan desert. Their arrival at this gathering of revelers, all eager to dance through the night, doesn’t immediately yield answers; however, they encounter a group of travelers and decide to follow them after police break up the party. A convoy of three vehicles then makes its way along rough roads toward the Mauritanian border, where another event is planned and where they hope their search will continue. As they travel together, the individuals in the group begin to form connections, despite initial distrust, before a tragic accident on a mountain pass brings a dangerous element to their journey through an area that’s clearly hazardous for everyone involved. The film does a remarkable job of contrasting the carefree atmosphere created by music and sound at the beginning with the harshness of the desert landscape—and the final moments—and visually, the trip is presented in a striking way. However, the narrative itself isn't as strong; the characters feel underdeveloped, and it’s difficult to truly understand the mindset of the rave community, despite their diverse backgrounds and shared voluntary dependence, which does resonate in a compelling but somewhat shallow manner. Bruno Núñez Arjona stands out, though Bigui Bellamy and Jade Oukid also deliver noteworthy performances, portraying convincingly the appeal of leaving behind conventional life and shedding societal constraints. The ending felt unnecessarily harsh, perhaps reflecting the reality that aspirations don't always materialize or can even become nightmares. It’s a visually beautiful film, and the combination of sound and visuals is best experienced in a movie theater, as watching it on television might diminish its impact and reveal shortcomings in the character development.
