While I understand Abel Ferrara has a following, and to be honest I don’t know his films well – this is actually the first one I’ve watched – I found this movie mostly symbolic, and apart from some lovely scenery, it was rather boring. It did go by relatively quickly since the runtime is just 85 minutes, but there were moments when my attention wandered. I will say that Willem Dafoe deserves praise (and this marks his sixth project with Ferrara), but it simply wasn’t to my taste. Honestly, I'd prefer a film centered around Dafoe working as a bartender in Siberia and meeting some strange people... **1.5/5**
