I wasn't expecting much from Shotgun Wedding, and it ended up being more enjoyable than I thought it would be. The plot itself feels familiar; another movie came out recently with a comparable central idea. However, the humor and the people in the story make it worthwhile. There are several times when I laughed along with my fiancé. Jennifer Lopez is excellent, and Josh Duhamel gives a strong performance—they had wonderful rapport. Some of what happens felt pretty far-fetched, but that’s just to be expected in romantic comedies that also have action elements. It's not a cinematic masterpiece by any stretch, but if you can relax and not overthink it, there's a good time to be had watching this film. Score: 54% Verdict: Average
