Shinsei Galverse really is a fantastic, nostalgic experience! It’s also available to watch without charge on YouTube, which seems remarkable. While brief, the OVA does a wonderful job of presenting the setting and characters within a limited timeframe, and the final scene definitely made me eager for more installments. The voice acting performances are exceptional; everyone involved clearly gave it their all. I especially appreciated D.D.’s development throughout the episode and how her character transforms. An English-language version would be welcome, as would additional episodes. Zero’s personality is enjoyable—he shifts between serious moments, humor, and a touch of melancholy. If you understand Japanese, there are many references to gyaru language and slang that add another layer of enjoyment. I also appreciated the traditional yellow subtitles on YouTube. The final minute is likely the most captivating part, suggesting a broader universe within the Galverse galaxy and what other narratives might be in store. The animation style strongly evokes the 1990s, and it feels like there aren’t many other anime that capture that retro aesthetic so well. I appreciate the strong outlines, bright colors, and the influence of gyaru culture on the character designs and costumes. Even if you're unfamiliar with gyaru culture, I believe this is a winning combination—there’s an appealing blend of shoujo and shonen elements. Here's hoping for more episodes to come.
