I’m really enjoying this installment; it’s exactly what I look for in a Sherlock Holmes story—a clever murder puzzle unfolding within a dilapidated manor house that feels genuinely ominous as the characters approach. The setting is full of classic elements: hidden rooms, unsettling sounds from the floors and staff, an intriguing basement, and the satisfying feeling of watching Holmes and Watson become embroiled in a wicked mystery inside this eerie location. The actors deliver performances consistent with what we’ve come to expect from the show, the storyline works well, and there are some truly enjoyable scenes sprinkled throughout. The film's length is just right. It was great; fancy a round of human chess now? 9/10
