The narrative in “She Rides Shotgun” follows a straightforward path—a man evading something, a journey toward making amends, and the creation of a familial connection through hardship. What distinguishes it isn't its originality of plot, as it doesn’t attempt to break new ground, but rather how that story is presented: with genuine feeling, excellent acting, and direction that feels both personal and inventive. Taron Egerton demonstrates his capabilities once again, proving himself a flexible performer dedicated to his roles. However, the film truly belongs to Ana Sophia Heger, who delivers an astonishing performance—a complete surprise, really—and is responsible for much of the movie's emotional resonance. Her work isn’t merely noteworthy considering her years; it simply stands out as remarkable. A new talent emerges with this film, and attention should certainly be paid. Rating: B
