I feel a little embarrassed to say I watched this film, especially knowing beforehand that it would be terrible. However, there were reasons for my viewing choice. When my youngest son saw that SyFy was showing this awful movie yesterday evening, he really wanted to see it. Since I typically watch something with the kids in the evenings, I decided to join them. I wasn’t ready for how truly bad it would be. I had hoped that, given they secured funding for a third installment, there might be at least some redeeming qualities worth mentioning positively. If I really tried to find something good to say, the hashtags shown in the corner of the screen were occasionally amusing. Otherwise, it’s just complete garbage. The acting is shockingly poor. The special effects are generally awful. As for the plot? It's nonsensical, ridiculous, and likely concocted under the influence of drugs. It jumps around from Washington to Florida and then into space. Sharks on a space shuttle? The entire movie is so lacking in intelligence, so stupid, and so bad that it isn’t even funny as a comedy. Even if you try to switch off your brain, you're bombarded with so much nonsense that you can practically feel your brain cells trying to flee your head. I probably destroyed more brain cells watching this than during a week of heavy drinking. What surprises me is that some people think this movie deserves a 10 out of 10 rating. That’s even harder to believe than the film's awfulness. This earns a solid 1 out of 10 stars, if any movie has earned such a low score. I rarely rate a movie so poorly; usually there’s something that bumps it up to at least a 2 or 3-star rating. Not this time.
