The movie "Shakedown" is surprisingly bland, and it’s clear that someone recognized this problem. To try to fix things, the filmmakers decided to copy elements from “Lethal Weapon” (1987), resulting in a series of action scenes and stunts intended to grab attention. While these sequences are technically well-done and manage to make an otherwise forgettable film more engaging, they’re also unintentionally funny and undermine any attempt at realism. The awkward pairing of Peter Weller and Sam Elliott as characters named Roland Dalton and Richie Marks doesn't help either; they seem like they were cast in entirely different movies, and putting them together creates a really jarring effect.
