I’ve rarely encountered something so enjoyable. It's genuinely remarkable. *Shadow in the Cloud* is completely wild, and I really enjoyed watching it. There was clearly no holding back during the writing process! I’m relieved that this hasn’t been torn apart by critics; certainly not as much as I anticipated. The sheer absurdity of it all works for me, and the filmmakers managed to pack an incredible amount into under 80 minutes—it's crazy; the special effects are impressive, especially considering the scale of the production, although the final fight wasn’t quite up to par. Chloë Grace Moretz delivers a fantastic performance, arguably her best so far. The supporting cast all seemed well-suited to their parts, and the radio communications were cleverly utilized for many of the actors who weren't directly on screen with Moretz. I worried that it might become tedious with so much dialogue early on, but it never did. I’ll likely watch this again; it has a strong appeal for repeat viewings. It doesn’t make logical sense—not at all—but it may be the ideal film to turn your brain off to. Seriously. It's unapologetically silly, and I appreciate that; you can’t deny its originality!
