I think my last viewing of this was back around 1997, when I rented it from Blockbuster on VHS. It had a reasonably good cast for its time, but ultimately it’s just a completely absurd political thriller that doesn't hold up to scrutiny and features some truly ridiculous moments, like the main characters involved in the supposed "conspiracy" having a meeting out in plain sight or the ending where the device meant to kill the president – which is silly enough on its own, being a model helicopter – gets foiled by balloons. The one good thing I can say is that Stephen Lang, who portrays the assassin, is quite imposing, even though he doesn’t speak at all. It's not hard to understand why this film has faded from memory and hasn't even been released on DVD in the States. **1.75/5**
