The movie took its story from a novel, but the film’s title isn't as fitting as the book’s original one. Perhaps that was done to hide something, though I don't believe it would have mattered much since the surprise is revealed near the very end. The plot centers on an author going through a divorce and living by himself when his home comes under threat from someone claiming he plagiarized his story. What happens afterward, detailing how he resolves the situation, makes up the rest of the movie. It’s just alright overall. Johnny Depp gave a good performance, and the suspense was well-done, especially in the initial portion. However, it declines later on; the second half felt pretty standard, and the twist wasn't particularly captivating. It becomes fairly predictable at some point, which isn't helped by how common the storyline feels. I specifically didn’t care for the ending—it seemed rushed and underdeveloped. Despite that, it’s still enjoyable enough to watch because of Depp and the generally competent production. So, if you don’t expect too much, it might be worth seeing. _6/10_
