Secret Obsession comes across as a jumble of familiar thriller tropes, assembled without much care for how they connect. Right from the start, the film seems unsure of what it wants to be, resembling more a series of borrowed scenes from superior movies than something fresh. The narrative hinges on a foreseeable premise that doesn’t develop into anything unexpected, and although amnesia can sometimes be compelling, in this case it functions as an inadequate justification for a story lacking originality.
