This film doesn’t even manage a small appearance from "Princess Leia" – which would at least offer some kind of commentary on George Lucas's choices – and that speaks volumes about how thoroughly unoriginal it is. During the production of "Stab 3," characters begin dying off in a manner strikingly similar to what one might expect from this impending, finished work. The new killer establishes their style immediately by eliminating "Cotton" (Liev Schreiber) and his partner before focusing on "Sidney" (Neve Prescott), Courteney Cox ("Gale"), and their look-alikes, while "Dewey" (David Arquette) tries to maintain a vigilant watch as the bodies accumulate. It’s essentially a substandard revisiting of the first film, with virtually the same storyline, predictable false leads, excessive screaming, and manufactured scares. While the narrative framework is slightly altered, the conclusion remains just as absurdly unexpected, evoking something Agatha Christie might have written before discarding it. Wes Craven has run out of ideas; it's time to move on.
