The visuals and how scenes were put together were things I appreciated quite a bit. The action sequences had great choreography, and the movie generally moved along smoothly; with those elements alone, it could have easily earned an 8 or 9. What held it back was a plot that felt bewildering, overly complicated, and sometimes ridiculous, which made it difficult to become emotionally engaged. It seems designed as something you can switch your brain off for, but I simply wasn't able to connect with the story unfolding. The film appears geared toward a specific demographic—an American teen from the early 2000s—and either I’m not part of that audience or I just wasn't in the right mindset while watching.
