Mark Jones's film, Scorned, doesn't offer anything fresh within the familiar horror landscape of a woman seeking retribution after discovering betrayal. Expecting something groundbreaking will likely lead to frustration; however, accepting its reliance on established tropes makes it an acceptable distraction for those into graphic violence. The story centers around AnnaLynne McCord as a woman who discovers her partner, portrayed by Billy Zane, has been unfaithful with her close friend, Viva Bianca. After uncovering evidence of the affair through text messages, she manipulates them into going to a secluded location where she then subjects them to various forms of torment. The film incorporates elements of her past trauma, and some unexpected developments occur later on. The technical aspects are solid, and the performances from the lead actors are well-suited for the kind of movie it is. It earns a 6/10.
