The movie improves considerably as it progresses, though it doesn’t reach a level of quality. Carano has a commanding presence, but unfortunately her acting skills are lacking. John Hannah's attempt at an American accent is really quite bad and pulls you right out of the experience. Even setting those problems aside, _Scorched Earth_ remains unremarkable. Final rating: ★½ - It’s boring and disappointing; try to skip it if you can.
