Liam Neeson delivers a remarkable performance as Schindler; Fiennes is chillingly dreadful as Goth, and the rest of the supporting cast are all very good. The choice to present it in black and white helps *Schindler’s List* feel unique and special—it's a stroke of brilliance. Ultimately, this film explores the depths of human cruelty alongside extraordinary acts of bravery; World War II and the Holocaust revealed both the worst and the best aspects of our species, and this movie portrays that reality while also examining the complexities of those involved in some of history’s most momentous events—no other film does it quite as well. It's a work of exceptional quality and an excellent introduction for anyone who isn't already familiar with the details of Nazi rule.
