The film appears capable of capturing the feel of the 1960s, or at least how things appeared for those who were privileged and affluent. John Hurt delivers a strong performance, as expected, and Joanne Whaley possesses an undeniable charisma; her expressions, whether playful or seductive, are so captivating that I could easily believe Helen of Troy’s face inspired more than just physical desire—it was the way she regarded men. Despite this, I didn't find the movie particularly gripping. Dialogue occasionally felt unclear, and the characters who were easy to root for lacked depth. I would have liked to see more scenes featuring Jean Alexander in her role as Christine’s mother. That's essentially everything I wanted to share about it, though.
