The movie assumes you can predict what people will do. Jigsaw is gone, but his methods live on—does he have a successor? Will we see more complex and gruesome devices designed to push people to their limits? Absolutely. If you’re already invested in this franchise, and it seems likely that anyone watching this installment would be, there's enough here to entertain. However, the constant repetition starts to wear thin; the story doesn't bring anything fresh to the table, and it's frustratingly clear that the plot is designed to lead into another movie. It’s disappointing that the scenes featuring Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) are the most compelling parts of the film—though I will admit the traps do manage to hold your attention for a bit... 4/10
