The apocalypse isn’t portrayed with the depth or seriousness it demands in 'Save Yourselves!', possibly because, similar to many romantic comedies, it aims for an effortless viewing experience. However, there's genuine insight and sincerity in how this relationship unfolds, as both individuals attempt to escape from difficult circumstances – both tangible and metaphorical – and gain some understanding. Even with the pervasive sense of impending disaster, the film manages to elicit a good number of laughs—and even a touch of optimism (depending on your take on its intriguing final scene).
