The depiction of 90s Hollywood, viewed through the eyes of a manager, is presented here. It appears that Western criticism of figures like Adam Sandler and Michael Bay isn’t lessening, even with their more recent successes—a regrettable attitude when so many others appreciate their work without reservation. While this isn't Sandler's strongest effort, it represents an improvement. At first, I was bothered by his familiar accent, but as the film progressed, it felt appropriate for the character. It occurred to me that a serious drama might not have been suitable given the nature of the characters involved, especially Kevin James’ role. The story unfolds as a 90s-era narrative centered on a Hollywood manager, told through flashbacks as the people in the movie remember his impact. He discovers a young woman with an exceptional voice who is poised to become famous. Throughout her career, he consistently supported her during both positive and challenging times, but eventually had to prioritize other clients. The rest of the story details his professional life and how it’s portrayed. I understand that the film draws inspiration from the experiences of Sandler's own manager. I also appreciated the brief appearances, Rikishi’s in particular! It runs for a considerable length, though I ultimately found myself enjoying it. Overall, it's an acceptable movie—those who dislike Sandler might want to skip it and allow others to enjoy it. _6.5/10_
