Angelina Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who, after being released from a Korean prison camp, is eager to return home to her husband, who studies spiders. Just as she’s about to leave work, she and her supervisor "Ted" (Liev Schreiber) are pulled into a situation involving a previously unknown Russian national. During questioning, this man accuses her of being a spy for Russia. The film then shifts into something resembling “Bourne” crossed with “Lara Croft,” as Salt desperately tries to reach her husband and clear her name before Chitiwel Ejiofor ("Peabody") and the FBI team can definitively declare her guilty.
