Sakra proves to be an uneven experience. The martial arts action is skillfully presented, though it feels somewhat disconnected and awkwardly inserted into a film that lacks focus and clarity. A flimsy plot, full of gaps, draws from traditional Chinese stories about the Beggars' Clan. Despite the presence of Donnie Yen and other Hong Kong performers, they are unable to overcome the movie’s obvious flaws. Ultimately, it comes across as an unremarkable production. It has some entertainment value, but the disappointing narrative and overall lack of structure make for a more irritating than pleasurable viewing.
