This is a very good entry into Disney’s sports drama catalog, even if it feels like they’ve tackled similar stories countless times before—though they generally succeed when they do. While films such as *The Greatest Game Ever Played* and *Glory Road* surpass it, I found this one quite entertaining. The cinematography is genuinely excellent; Shane Hurlbut deserves recognition for that. The editing (by Terel Gibson) also stood out, especially in the opening scenes. It has a plot that’s engaging and full of emotion, adhering to familiar Disney/sports biopic conventions, but with plenty of worthwhile elements as well. There's one particular moment where I honestly thought Chuck Norris might show up—you know what I mean. I appreciated the cast; Jay Reeves delivers a terrific performance as Ray, and Thaddeus J. Mixson is reliably good as his brother, Fahmarr. Corinne Foxx (Jamie Foxx’s daughter), James Badge Dale, and Amanda Warren, even with her limited screen time, also do well. It was neat to see IronE Singleton, who's known for *The Walking Dead*, among the cast. I would definitely recommend it.
