It makes me think that maybe this film would have been received differently if someone other than Schwarzenegger had starred. It seems like audience expectations were influenced by his casting. Regardless, those extremely low one and two-star ratings seem unfair to me; they really don’t reflect my experience. I actually enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It's certainly not destined for an Academy Award or a place on my favorite films of all time, but I found it entertaining. Schwarzenegger isn't as young as he used to be, so you shouldn’t anticipate him taking on roles like he did during his peak years before entering politics. However, he handled the action sequences well enough. There’s plenty of action in this movie, along with a good amount of fake blood. It’s not a non-stop action film, though; there's also dramatic storytelling woven into the action. I would say that the actors generally did a decent job with their parts. The drug enforcement team looks more like a biker group than actual police officers, but when you are working undercover in the world of drug cartels, you have to be a little crazy. There aren't any young, attractive women in this movie, unless you consider the scenes set in bars and strip clubs. In fact, the two female leads could even be described as unattractive, which might explain why some younger viewers gave it a low rating—though that’s just my guess :-) . Regardless, I think their casting fits perfectly with the overall tone of the film and Schwarzenegger's age. The plot combines familiar elements like vengeful drug cartels and ineffective FBI directors, but adds in twists involving a money heist and missing funds. The execution isn't flawless at times, but it was an adequate story to me. I liked the final shootout scene in the bar, although I almost considered deducting a star because of the sad ending. What can I say? I’m a fan of happy endings.
