I have to admit my perspective here might be skewed, but I feel that Chan and Tucker would’ve been best off if they had ended their collaboration with this film. The first Rush Hour was genuinely amusing, but the subsequent installments—particularly number three—were truly disappointing. It's reminiscent of Lethal Weapon, or really any buddy cop movie where the partners are complete opposites. Those films typically work well within either action or comedy, with very few exceptions—namely those that involve dogs. There’s a strong dynamic at play, built on a noticeable cultural and language divide, similar to what we saw in Red Heat. However, this film takes the humor much further, reaching a level of absurdity that is laugh-out-loud funny. The actors clearly have great chemistry together, and their outtakes are even more entertaining. It’s a genuinely hilarious experience... ...just avoid watching the sequels because I honestly can't explain what went wrong with them.
