It’s a strange situation when "Richie" (Justin Timberlake) is attempting to pay for his education at Princeton by running online gambling and poker operations, as well as earning a cut whenever his classmates make mistakes. He unexpectedly becomes a target himself, leading him on a journey to Costa Rica in an effort to arrange a meeting with the renowned "Ivan" (Ben Affleck). Surprisingly, a straightforward conversation with this man leads to a promising position within an organization that promises wealth and the attention of "Rebecca" (Gemma Arterton). However, his time in the role is brief before he’s contacted by the pragmatic FBI agent "Shavers" (Anthony Mackie), who informs him that his employer is dishonest and wants him to become an informant. The character now faces perilous circumstances and quickly demonstrates a remarkable ability to improvise—though not necessarily to fight! Everyone involved appears well-dressed in this movie, and it includes fights, jewelry, expensive vehicles, boats, and planes; however, what’s missing is a substantial narrative. The central concept feels underdeveloped, and the script fails to breathe much vitality or depth into the uninspired characters. Thankfully, the film clocks in at just ninety minutes and does include crocodiles—though they are given too little screen time and not enough to do before the somewhat unusual ending. It’s comparable to a typical television movie that can fill some spare moments while doing chores; that's essentially what it amounts to.
