It’s clear the filmmakers’ politics are deeply problematic, and their convictions come across in an unsubtle and clumsy fashion. The story deals with sensitive issues that deserve more thoughtful treatment than this shallow imitation and pointless spoof provides. While the production values are high, they can't redeem what the movie ultimately is. It remains a politically charged melodrama, and it’s hard to shake off the unpleasant feeling afterward. That’s probably why I would suggest steering clear of this so-called “entertainment.”
