It’s true what they say about “every dog having its day,” but this movie feels like a product stamped out with the same low quality as items labeled "made in China." It appears those involved don't really see any potential for success in their work. Being a collaboration between American and Chinese studios, the film unfortunately falls short of expectations. While the animation is better than some lesser animated features, the world it creates feels constricted, which ultimately contributes to its failings. Examining the backgrounds reveals a distinctly substandard level of detail. The visuals and basic plot are not particularly original; they’re quite similar to other animated movies I've seen recently, bringing to mind films like 'Kung Fu Panda' or 'Zootopia'. The story revolves around pursuing an ambitious goal and features an inspirational message. However, I suspect that children younger than six or seven would likely be the most entertained by it; this isn’t really geared toward adult audiences, as many modern animated movies are. That’s a disappointing aspect, though some adults might still find something to appreciate. The film relies on very familiar and predictable story elements. A young Tibetan sheepdog rebels against his community's expectations and instead develops a passion for music. After being inspired by a well-known musician, he sets off on an adventure that will determine his future. The unfolding of his life changes is what the rest of the movie explores. There are some humorous moments, but nothing really works to elevate the film as a whole. From the start, it felt incredibly familiar, which didn't allow for any significant improvements later on. It’s an average film, possibly even below that standard, but still watchable, and thankfully it is relatively short with pleasant music. _4/10_
