Disney reimagines the story of Robin Hood using animation, creating something enjoyable for viewers of all ages. Wolfgang Reitherman, who previously worked on films like Sleeping Beauty and The Jungle Book, directed and produced this movie. The voice cast includes Brian Bedford as Robin Hood, Phil Harris voicing Little John, Monica Evans portraying Maid Marian, Peter Ustinov taking on the role of Prince John, Terry-Thomas as Sir Hiss, Andy Devine as Friar Tuck, Roger Miller as Allan-A-Dale, Pat Buttram playing the Sheriff of Nottingham, and Carole Shelley as Lady Cluck. The film presents all characters as animals, with Robin appearing as a fox. The story centers on the schemes of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham, which are challenged by Robin Hood and his companions. A romantic connection is also developing between Robin and Marian. While it doesn't quite reach the standard set by other Disney animated features—there aren’t any memorable songs—the action sequences are well-done (particularly the archery scenes), Prince John and Sir Hiss provide a good dose of humor, and overall it's an entertaining version of a familiar tale. It earns a rating of 8/10.
