_River_ shares a kinship with _Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes_, but presents itself as a more refined iteration of that film's ideas. It maintains a sense of humor, though it doesn’t generate quite the same level of overt laughter as its predecessor. Despite their conceptual parallels, _River_ features a dedicated zone trapped within a time loop—a sort of temporal anomaly persisting throughout its 96-minute duration. The writing in _River_ is clever, the cast is excellent, and the cinematography is gorgeous.
