The film begins with some lovely ballet sequences, but things change when Elise (Marion Barbeau) sprains her ankle. This isn't an isolated incident; doctors inform her that her injury looks serious, potentially requiring surgery and effectively ending her dancing career. Adjusting to this news takes time, but Elise doesn’t dwell on it. After talking with her parents, she decides to try physiotherapy while assisting a contemporary dance group in Brittany—a chance to escape her father's overbearing presence. Her arrival is met with enthusiasm, and she quickly integrates into the group, helping one dancer with his choreography and being reminded that there's more to life than just dancing. From this point on, there’s a genuinely amusing moment involving her ponytailed physical therapist, Yann (François Civil), who encourages her to find romance. His disappointed expression when she hints at having someone in mind becomes even more pronounced when she names "Mehdi" (Mehdi Baki)! At its heart, the movie centers around Elise and her drives—particularly her need to dance and to understand herself. Barbeau delivers a strong performance as a character whose future has been abruptly altered, but who is determined to forge a new path forward. It shares similarities with “Fame” (1980)—a collection of rather different people brought together by their passion for dance, music, and even tasks like peeling potatoes. Pio Marmaï also contributes positively as the eccentric cook "Loïc," and overall I found it to be a pleasant viewing experience.
