The sequel, *’Ride Along 2’*, doesn't quite reach the heights of the first one, and it’s a shame because it isn't terrible or exceptionally slow; it might be acceptable for one look, but ultimately there's nothing particularly memorable about its hundred-and-one minutes—it does feel long at times. The jokes are just okay. Kevin Hart as Ben is likely the strongest part of the cast, with Ice Cube as James not far behind. Ken Jeong’s character, A.J., has a few mildly funny lines early on, but he quickly fades into someone you won't recall. Olivia Munn playing Maya doesn’t make much of an impression, and Benjamin Bratt as Pope is a rather uninteresting bad guy. There is a pleasant appearance by someone from the *'Fast & Furious'* series, though. I did enjoy the first *'Ride Along'*, but this one feels like a letdown.
