The characters’ professional lives and family relationships are developing further in this installment. I had hoped for a sequel to the initial film, and I'm pleased to say that this one exceeded my expectations; it was even more enjoyable than the first time around. It seems unlikely that Ice Cube could have carried the movie on his own; Kevin Hart’s involvement made all the difference—he truly shines. He’s been in some great films recently, and he’s currently the top comedian and supporting actor available in Hollywood, similar to Simon Pegg's standing in England. Like many others, this film is being overlooked, particularly by critics who use profanity. I can assure you that it’s far better than they claim. If you enjoyed the first one, you will likely enjoy this as well. I expect its reputation will improve over time as ordinary viewers rent it. The plot is straightforward—the two cops, soon to be brothers-in-law, travel to Miami for a job, but their case becomes entangled with other issues, leading them to join the local police force in order to dismantle the gang responsible. A parody isn't necessary; the movie pokes fun at its own characters by referencing Keng Jeong as “a low budget Jackie Chan.” Beyond the humor, the action scenes were quite remarkable. Olivia Munn was a welcome addition and I think she’ll be sticking around for future installments. I want to see a third film, and I'm hoping it will have even more sophisticated, exciting action-comedy elements. It would be best to keep the director and writers on board; after the first two films, my expectations are very high. 7/10
