It’s precisely the sort of martial arts movie my grandfather would have enjoyed; we frequently watched films like this together as a child. While *The Raid* has certainly paved the way for more graphic violence and prolonged brutality, that doesn't diminish their entertainment value. *Revenger* is about as standard an action film as you could find—you can anticipate events and their timing with complete certainty. The movie also seems to struggle in deciding which of its two main characters deserves focus. Nevertheless, I was still able to relax and appreciate the mayhem unfolding on screen.
