Following up on an interesting initial movie, *’Return from Witch Mountain’* turns out to be a sequel that opts for a predictable and uninspired evil plot. It isn't terrible, but it doesn’t really add anything of value to the first film. The earlier picture concluded with a suggestion of more to come, leading one to anticipate further development of those ideas. However, that expectation isn’t met, as we are presented with a rather uninspired antagonist instead. Christopher Lee appears in this installment, but he portrays the aforementioned villain – Dr. Victor Gannon – and his performance is unremarkable. Bette Davis (Letha) shares the same fate, being largely forgettable. Kim Richards (Tia) and Ike Eisenmann (Tony) reprise their roles as the two children, while Jack Soo (Yokomoto) and Richard Bakalyan (Eddie) contribute some acceptable supporting performances. It’s a letdown that they didn't pursue the storyline introduced in *‘Escape to Witch Mountain.’* Consequently, it was almost inevitable that this one would be less impressive.
