My opinion hasn't shifted over time; seeing it again after eight years didn't change how I feel about this film. It was a bit simpler to get through now that I’m familiar with the series, but I still believe the storyline was lacking, even when compared to other movies in the franchise. Knowing it originated from a video game doesn't excuse the fact that it felt very much like an adaptation, perhaps more so than earlier films. I continue to enjoy Jovovich as Alice; she’s actually the best performer among the cast, and I offer this observation with reservations, but Guillory’s performance was particularly bad (though maybe that’s due to his connection with the Umbrella Corporation). Without a doubt, it's the least impressive film in the series. **1.5/5**
