It’s like the absolute bleakest version of Groundhog Day imaginable. What you get here is something really depressing, shadowy, and despairing—and also fantastic. The choices made about who to cast are proving to be quite successful, and the filmmaking itself is very controlled. While the action sequences occasionally take a backseat, that doesn’t matter at all because the narrative is more than enough to hold your attention.
