However, it doesn’t focus on “Insurgent Mexico”; instead, it deals with his other book, "10 Days that Shook the World," which recounts events he didn’t fully grasp and wasn't actually present to witness, including some terrible massacres. Still, the Russian Revolution itself is incredibly captivating, isn't it? Even if what he wrote was heavily influenced by others, simply being there to cover such a momentous event would be enough for a compelling film, wouldn’t you think? But, that doesn’t seem to be its focus either, does it? It feels like the movie is about John Reed not experiencing anything particularly thrilling—they selected the aspects of his life one might want to see portrayed on screen and then consciously chose not to include them.
